About

Daniel Mead writes at home in California and takes the songs to Salvador, Bahia, where a band of Bahian players — bass, drums, percussion, piano, baritone sax, banjo — cut them live at Estúdio Casa das Máquinas.

In his words

Daniel Mead, a singer songwriter based in California, has built a cultural bridge between Brazil and the USA, mixing rhythms, sounds, textures, lyrics, energy and musical styles from both countries.

Produced by Daniel Mead and Keko Pires, together they have combined the sounds of multiple musical styles and have created something fresh that they have jokingly dubbed Kung Fu-sion.

Recorded and mixed in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil by Tadeu Mascarenhas at Estudio Casa Das Maquinas.

Both records carry the same method and the same painter: YESNIK's canvases are the sleeves. Still Here, the second album, arrived in June 2024.
